OutDaughtered stars Adam and Danielle Busby have revealed they are spending up to $1,000 a week on groceries when they opened DailyMail.com about their busy lifestyle as parents of six young children – including America’s first all-girl quintuplets.
The beloved TLC stars — who are already parents to their eldest daughter, Blayke, 12 — famously welcomed quintuplets in 2015 after Danielle, 39, became the first American woman to give birth to female quintuplets.
Since then, the world has been able to watch the Texas couple raise a large family before the Busbys decide to discontinue their series in 2021.
Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com about their daily life eight years after welcoming their little girl, the married couple opened up about dealing with online criticism, how they worked through financial pressures and revealed why they made the decision to bring their show back to business. small screen.

Growing up quickly: The couple welcomed quintuplets in 2015 after Danielle became the first American woman to give birth to female quintuplets.
Reflecting on the decision to invite the cameras back to their home, Danielle admits to being nervous but the gang is soon “back in the groove”.
He explained: ‘It was strange not having a camera to capture life while we were away because we were so used to it. But I feel like we know what we’re doing now. We haven’t really missed a beat yet.’
Indeed, viewers were devastated when the family revealed they had chosen to stop filming their popular reality show after eight seasons.
But the children themselves were the main catalyst for the family’s decision to return to TLC.
Danielle recalls: “They were so used to seeing our crew, and soon they’d just be like, “Where’s Uncle Brad? Where’s the camera? When are they coming back?”
“I think because they’re starting to understand that in order to see themselves on TV, you have to make movies.” So they started realizing that, ‘Well, if we’re not shooting, what are we going to watch?… It was a unanimous decision to put the cameras back.’
Adam, 41, added: “What’s cool about this season is every girl is on the mic now. They’re a major part of the show now, holding conversations and getting more involved in things. This is very fun.’
As viewers of the show know, raising six children between the ages of eight and 12 is no easy task, and Danielle admits the couple often still feels as “overwhelmed” as when they first welcomed their quintuplets.

Happy lot: Danielle admits the couple still ‘feel overwhelmed all the time’
“I think we still feel overwhelmed all the time,” he laughs. ’ We had a look and it was like, ‘Okay, this is it. This is real, we have six children ”. Life can still be great but I think we should just go with what we have at the moment. You can only do so much and we are outnumbered. We are out princess!
And as most people imagine, the expense of raising such a large child is not for the faint of heart.
“We spend anywhere from $800 to $1,000 a week just shopping for groceries to everything to do for their sports and lunches.” I mean, it’s expensive.’
Adam then joked about their endless household chores when Danielle added: ‘Washing day at our house, every day! It’s 10 minutes to the hour, every hour.’
Meanwhile, the pair are no strangers to the criticism they face online from other parents who disapprove of filming their children at such a young age, but the pair are careful not to spot hate comments.
Adam explained: ‘You have to find out if someone is unhappy and being a hater. If so, then just block and delete it. We want to separate ourselves from anyone who tries to take away our happiness in life.
‘But if it is a valid allegation, then I will step up and respond and defend myself. Tell me why we made that decision or whatever. Just explain our point of view with that. If they still want to be haters or just want to accuse you of something that isn’t true, then get out of there.’
One thing the couple is clear on is that they are not going to push their daughter to become a young social media influencer.
When asked if they would allow pre-teen Blayke to start creating content on his own solo account, Danielle explained that she wasn’t keen on the idea but admitted: “We’ll get there when we get there.” I haven’t been there so I don’t know.

Forward: Adam explained that the couple tried to ignore the criticism they faced online from other parents who disapproved of filming their children
Adam explains: ‘Obviously there’s a lot Mum and Dad have seen and learned. It’s going to take a long, slow process to make sure that she’s able and capable and mature enough to deal with it, because not everything is just glamorous.
‘It works and you also have to deal with the good and the bad. So for teenagers who are not used to it, it’s tough.’
When the show last aired, viewers were concerned about a mysterious illness that had Danielle hospitalized with an autoimmune problem.
Sharing an update on her health crisis, the mother of six admits that doctors are still unable to ‘give an official title’ to her problems.
“Autoimmune struggles suck,” says Danielle. ‘You never know the ups and downs that are coming. It’s hard for me, it’s hard for Adam to deal with it and fit in.’
He continued: ‘But I’ve had a good trip working with my neurologist to help me with a lot of the nerve issues, damage issues that I have. Migraines and muscle problems.
‘My body went into immense shock after I had it. I have heart problems and only my inflammation has increased tremendously. But I’ve been put in good doctor’s hands and have had a good journey, especially maybe the last six to nine months.’

Elsewhere, the new season highlights how the couple keeps things working now that Danielle works in their boutique, while Adam keeps the fort with the girls back home.
He explained: ‘After all, I was very involved. That’s why I left my career in oil and gas just to work from home and do my own thing so we could start our own business and stuff.
“When we came to open a boutique where she had to be that face and she had to be there again.” We just fell in line because, this is what we set everything up for. Yes. It’s a little harder just trying to figure it out now.’
Adam continued: ‘We did a bit more division and conquest. Such is the motto of our house today. It’s like, “OK, either I take it all or you have this, I have this and we’re going to conquer the day.”‘
Conceived via intrauterine insemination (IUI), a procedure similar to IVF, the Busby girls were the first all-female quintuplets born in the US, and the first in the world since 1969.
