In southern Vietnam, Camel Beer Co., Ltd has initiated construction on a VND2.78 trillion ($106.78 million) beer and beverage facility in Can Tho. This project aims to boost Camel’s production capabilities, enhance its reach in southern markets, and bolster its nationwide distribution and export ambitions.
The new Camel Hau Giang brewery is being constructed on a 10.7-hectare site within Tan Phu Thanh Industrial Park. The initial phase of the project requires over VND1.8 trillion ($69.19 million) and will have the ability to produce 150 million litres annually.
Commercial manufacturing is scheduled to commence in 2027. When fully operational, the plant will be capable of producing 200 million litres of beer and 200 million litres of non-alcoholic drinks each year, totaling 400 million litres of beverages.
According to Camel’s financial plan, the plant is expected to generate average annual revenue of about VND5.7 trillion ($219.1 million) and contribute approximately VND1.5 trillion ($57.66 million) to the state budget.
Nguyen Thanh Long, Camel’s general director of domestic commercial operations, mentioned that the facility would establish itself as a key production hub in southern Vietnam. ‘Once operations start, we anticipate this will become one of Camel’s vital production centers in the South, allowing the Group to respond more aggressively to supply demands, reduce the distance between the factory and market, and enhance service quality and competitiveness,’ Long explained.
The plant will integrate with Camel’s nationwide distribution system and aid the company’s future export initiatives. This investment aligns with Vietnam’s expanding beer industry, where the market is projected to reach $19.27 billion by 2035.
The Can Tho location is anticipated to boost Camel’s supply strength in southern Vietnam while adding output for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. With an estimated compound annual growth rate of roughly 6.6% from 2026 to 2035, the Vietnamese beer sector is drawing increasing investor interest.
