The commonest artefact of early Rome was the brooch, which was used to safe clothing together. The Romans used a diverse vary of supplies for their jewellery from their in depth sources throughout the continent. Although they used gold, they generally used bronze or bone, and in earlier times, glass beads & pearl. As early as 2,000 years in the past, they imported Sri Lankan sapphires and Indian diamonds and used emeralds and amber of their jewellery. In Roman-ruled England, fossilised wood referred to as jet from Northern England was often carved into items of jewellery.
