Only 215 of the 45,728 Channel migrants who arrived by small boats last year were deported

Of the 45,755 migrants who crossed the Channel in small boats last year, 215 have been deported.

More than 25,000 of them were found to be refugees, although the Government claims the majority of those crossing in small boats are economic migrants.

These figures, based on data from the Ministry of Home Affairs, also show that one in five channel migrants is a child.

Residents have been evacuated after a 40-car train carrying the hazardous substance derailed and caught fire in the early hours of the morning.

Local residents in Raymond, Minnesota, were forced off their property after a freight train derailed at around 1 a.m. on Thursday morning.
