Slow Cooker Dark Chocolate Almond Clusters

This decadent and antioxidant snack is so easy! Dark Chocolate Almond Clusters are made in the slow cooker for a hands-off treat. Only a few ingredients and less than 10 minutes of prep time are all you need!

I’m all about easy and healthy chocolate recipes this time of year! While I love my traditional Peppermint Mocha Fudge and Chocolate Almond Fudge, the idea of making chunky-sounding clusters I can enjoy all month long sounds great.

Rich dark chocolate, almonds, almond butter, sea salt and pomegranate arils provide the most perfect bite! Crispy and sweetened to perfection, with a hint of tanginess. Best part? All I have to do is put all my ingredients in my slow cooker and go!

As a nutritionist, I love making delicious treats that I can share with others. These are the perfect dark chocolate almond clusters! They are healthy and full of antioxidants from dark chocolate, almonds and pomegranate. A treat you can enjoy all year round, and even a great on-the-go snack.

How to make dark chocolate almond clusters

Here’s what you’ll need to make this delicious treat:

  • Dark chocolate
  • Almond butter
  • Roasted almonds
  • Pomegranate
  • Sea salt

There he is! I bought a 1 pound bar of dark chocolate and chopped it. From here, all I have to do is add almond butter and toasted almonds. I set my slow cooker to low for 2 hours. I checked it for about 1 hour and stirred it well.

About 2 hours, I added pomegranate. I prepared 2 baking sheets lined with waxed paper, and dropped spoonfuls of the batter to set and dry. Sprinkle with sea salt! You can refrigerate or leave it at room temperature to form clusters.

Adaptation

You can definitely adapt this recipe and make some changes!

  • Chocolate: I use dark chocolate (my favorite), but milk chocolate or even white chocolate will work
  • Almonds: feel free to use peanuts or your favorite nuts
  • Almond butter: peanut butter or cashew butter
  • Pomegranates: a fantastic sub for pomegranates is cranberries or dried cherries, especially since it’s hard to find pomegranates during certain times of the year! You can also eliminate it completely.

Store and serve

Store these clusters in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer. I personally prefer the freezer as it can last for several months this way. This is a great gift to wrap in cellophane! Or, as part of a dessert charcuterie.
